Hilda R. Menne

MENNE, Hilda R. - of Goodrich, age 101, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2009 at her residence. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Burial will follow in Meadowview Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 3-8 pm Sunday, 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 E. Davison Rd., Davison. A Rosary will be prayed 7 p.m. Monday. On Tuesday, there will be visitation at the church for one hour prior to the Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to Brian's House Hospice or Outreach East. Hilda was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada on March 16, 1908, daughter of the late Jacob and Rebecca (Hehr) Janke. Hilda Janke married John Menne who preceded her in death on March 20, 1987. Hilda was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She loved her flower gardens, birds and dogs. Hilda was always available for everyone in her family. Hilda is survived by her children, Ilene Stiff, Jeannette Kraus, Lois (Alan) Inman, Rosella Eldridge, Wayne J. and Michael D. Menne; 43 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren; 24 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; special granddaughter, Wendy Allen. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Virginia Mae Barber and Jacqueline Allen; son, Frank J. Menne.
